How LoGI Food Tech contributes to the circular economy.
LoGI Food Tech combines the patented LoGI-bind process with circular ingredients to create snacks that contribute to the circular economy.
What are Circular Ingredients?
Circular Ingredients are ingredients that fit into to a circular economy. A circular economy aims to fight global problems such as climate change, biodiversity loss, waste and pollution, by using design-based solutions to reduce the impact of these problems.
The circular ingredients that we use are the superfood by-products of our current food processing systems, that would usually go to waste or to a low-value use. By using them to create snacks we reduce waste, and eliminate their potential to emit CO2.
By combining circular ingredients with our patented LoGI-bind process, we can turn any surplus superfoods into crunchy, tasty, snacks! This removes the need for starch and sugar binders in our snacks, which drastically improves their nutritional value.
This also means that our ingredients reduce CO2, and don't use up any extra land or water. They have a Low Global Impact, which means they don't cause biodiversity loss, waste or pollution. In fact, by using circular ingredients we help to tackle these problems! This means we have great Snack Stats.
What are Snack Stats?
Snack Stats are a way of measuring the global impact of your snacks. If companies began to display how much CO2 their ingredients emitted, as well as how much land and water they use up on their packaging, it would be much easier for consumers to make climate conscious decisions.
If companies also published the proportion of their products that are made with circular ingredients, consumers would be able to buy mindfully. Furthermore, companies would be motivated to find innovative solutions to waste problems!
